Road Trips With Babies.

Road trips or vacations sound really exciting but what about when you have to do it with your babies or toddlers? Well, it doesn’t have to be a complete nightmare! It can be so much fun and less expensive too. Here are some tips and tricks for you to follow while travelling by road with your baby to keep you sanity intact!

PACK HEAVY

You must pack heavy and not light! Pack your baby’s favorite toys, snacks, lots of water in the bottles that don’t easily spill and extra pair of clothes & shoes. It will also save your time from buying snacks on your way and from emergency shopping.

LET YOUR KIDS MOVE

Sitting in the car for a long time is impossible for our little ones! No matter how long the travelling is, you must stop frequently so that your child has time to run or stretch his legs for a while. It’s not just important for your baby but it’s really important for you as well to travel in breaks.

KEEP A FIRST AID KIT:

Mentally prepare yourself for small cuts, bruises or bees sting etc on your way so, do not forget to keep cleanup supplies, sanitizers, band aids or disposable bags etc in case of motion sickness to avoid mess and hassle. Keep plenty of wipes and diapers as well. Packing comforting objects, such as blankets and binkies will help in making your baby feel comfortable even when away from home.

PLACE YOUR BABY CORRECTLY IN THE CAR SEAT:

After carefully inspecting the car seat’s shape and condition, it’s time for you to place your baby in the car seat. Your baby is safer if remained rear facing until the age of 2. You should also ride in the backseat with your baby and utilize that time for bonding with him.

SCHEDULE YOUR TRAVELLING TIME:

Try to travel late at night or early in the morning so that you may cover half of the trip while your baby’s asleep. Try to avoid routes with traffic because the sounds of horns might annoy your little one. With the advancement in technology, you can easily check out the most suitable routes through online maps

PLAY GAMES:

Your toddler never gets bored of playing games! Try to keep him engaged in games like “I spy with my little eyes”. Also place their toys close to them but a time will come when they get tired of toys. So you can also allow a bit of screen time to them! It will keep them occupied. You should also play fun music and sing along with them as it is also a fun part of travelling!

Road trips with babies and toddlers are challenging. They can be emotionally exhausting as well. Following these tips may help in making your road trip pleasant!
